 This cave is easy to reach - no climbing necessary - and the perfect place to begin.
Naturally you need to be agile and surefooted but even inexperienced potholers can manage this one. The narrow crevices are not too narrow and even the climbs are easy to achieve if you are moderately agile.
Participants are equipped with helmet and headlamp and have a safety belt for the slippier passages. Franz will explain what you need to do in the cave and then off you go!!
If you are quite tall, then beware - you will have to duck quite a few times.

The Prax Ice caves - 1450 m below ground
|
 We are surrounded by darkness for a kilometre or so. Then we are taken completely by surprise to see blue sky and realise that we are standing above the second entrance in front of a mighty rock face. In the rocks around you, you can easily see just how the Alps came into being.
Fossils and petrified shells show what sort life there was in this area in the past and that at some stage in time the waters of the oceans lapped over these mountains.
The Prax is a cave for real potholers. The climb to get in last about 2 1/2 hours and is demanding in agility and fitness.
The pictures speak for themselves - an immense experience that is worth every ounce of effort...!
