Caves

Cave exploration – the unknown beckons. Man has always explored caves: from the first adventurers who often did not know exactly what they were getting into to modern day potholers, who in many cases are scientists researching the secrets of the mountains. From their conclusions we can learn about the formations of the mountains and how climate has changed over the centuries.

It takes many drops of water to slowly hollow the stone, and this is what amazes potholers as they enter the huge halls inside the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge mountains. The gushing sound of the stream can always be heard but it gets louder the closer the group gets to the underground source. This is more than a walk in a show cave.
